James Mott

An American Quaker, abolitionist, and supporter of women’s suffrage, Mott co-founded the Philadelphia Free Produce Society, which promoted goods not made by enslaved labor.

He also helped organize the Seneca Falls Convention in 1848, standing beside his wife Lucretia Mott in the fight for women’s voting rights and equality.

Through his dedication to human dignity, justice, and peaceful reform, Mott embodied the American ideals of liberty, equality, and ethical responsibility.
